Sporadic E opening 9th July, 2009

A nice and early Band I Es opening into south and eastern Europe this morning.

Signals were not to strong but stable enough to do some grabs.

Sporadic E opening 8th July, 2009

Yesterday and today was very poor in TV-Es conditions.
I only noticed very weak and unstable signals into Spain, Portugal and Italy during daytime.
Tonight around 18.00 hours utc I could observe some Es conditions to the east into Hungary and Slovakia but again with very unstable signals and a quick fade out.

Sporadic E opening 6th July, 2009

No Sporadic E was noted yesterday the 5th.
All quiet today so far with only Spain and Portugal. I only noticed weak video from Spain at 12.45 utc on channel E2.
Portugal on channel E3 had strong video at 13.22 utc with a Portuguese film.
During the evening Sporadic E conditions developed to the East and South-East.

Seems to have gone quiet now at 20.10 utc.

Around 1800 utc I heard a few FM stations from the Balkans fading in on lower FM band.
But that was only for a few minutes. The FM-DX guys in the centre of Holland had more luck and had almost an 1 hour opening into Greece, Italy, Romania etc.

Very flat sporadic es conditions yesterday and today in TV-Band 1.

Mostly Spain and Portugal could be watched for a longer period through the day and sometimes Ukraine and Moldova for shorter periods.

The highlight of today was a big Es opening into Portugal and Spain this evening in FM-Band II.
This brought at least 3 hours of E skip !!

Only a few openings today.
Spain was up for some time around 0915 utc followed by Russia around noon.
Later in the evening with Belarus, Italy and Croatia with strong signals.

Some dutch FM-DX'ers in central Holland are reporting Es into the Balkans this evening on FM.
I heard only a few Italians on lower FM for a short period and besides very weak.

Sporadic E opening 1st July, 2009

Not much going on this morning in TV-Band 1.
Only TVE-1 from Spain popped up at 09.47 utc with a Michael Jackson review.

More activity could be seen around 13.00 utc when some "R" channels went open with among others a nice surprise on R1.
Watching on R1 to 1 + 1 from Ukraine when suddenly at 13.46 utc an old UEIT testcard appeared.
At 14.00 utc this testcard disappeared and 2Plus from Cahul/Moldova went on programme.
Conclusion is that Moldova still uses the UEIT, maybe only on the 1st. day of the month ??
Something to look out for the next month.

First early traces of Es this morning. The TV-Band 1 was open to Spain/Italy/ Russia and Estonia.

At 1630 utc a few greece FM stations fading in on 87.60. 88.20 and 88.40 Mhz but only for a short moment. So again no lucky day for FM-Es.
