Sporadic E opening 18th July, 2009

What an amazing long lasting sporadic es opening into Iceland in Band 1 and even in Band II this morning.
Time of reception was from 0915 - 1230 utc !!!
The longest opening into Iceland I have ever experienced.

A very quiet sporadic es evening so far with only E2- TVE-1 at 18.30 utc.

Sporadic E opening 17th July, 2009

A very persistent Band 1 Es opening today.
I could watch the whole morning to TV from Portugal, Spain and Italy.
The first opening was from 05.30 - 09.30 utc. A second opening was from
14.30 - 15.30 utc into the Balkans.
A nice surprise this morning was the catch on channel E3 of the Editrice 21 Network from Monte Giarolo/Italy with only 200 Watt.

Band 1 was open here all evening but it was a big mess with super strong signals to Portugal, Spain and Italy.

FM-Band II went open at around 18.00 utc mainly into South-Italy
up to 108 Mhz.
I did an half hour scan above 100 Mhz.

Sporadic E opening 16th July, 2009

Sporadic E propagation was life almost all evening but sometimes at relatively weak signal strengths.
Especially Italy with TLA and Rai Uno were at very weak level tonight.
TV-Band 1 went open at 15.30 utc into Portugal and Spain as usual the last few days.

At last FM-Band II went open to Algeria as from 16.48 utc.
Signals were not very strong and unstable and most on the lower FM.

It is interesting to see that the path on this map was straight to Algeria that's why I didn't hear FM stations from Spain, Italy, Morocco and Tunesia.

Sporadic E opening 15th July, 2009

All quiet here by daytime.
Between about 1615 - 2000 hours UTC the TV-Band 1 was open into Spain, Portugal and Italy with a short side-step into Ukraine.
But the signals were generally not very strong.
Another disappointing Es day.

Sporadic E opening 14th July, 2009

As from 16.30 utc very nice Es propagation could be noticed in TV-Band 1.
Path was open into Ukraine with good pictures on R2 from Kiev but R1 was a mess sometimes with 1+1, Inter and M1 on the same channel.
Around 18.30 utc the E cloud moved to the south and produced good pics from Portugal, Spain and Italy.

Dutch FM-DX'ers in central Holland are reporting an Es opening into Algeria and Spain tonight.
And again nothing was heard on FM in the most north-east part of the Netherlands.

Sporadic E opening 12th July, 2009

A very quiet morning in TV-Band 1. Path was open into Belarus and Ukraine however the signals were not too strong and fading in/out.

TV Band-1 brougth a good Es opening into Italy this morning.

The band was open from 0650 - 0940 utc.
