Sporadic (late season) ES with 1TV-Moscow

I was very surprised to see Sporadic E reception this morning. The "SP-E season" is usually well and truly over by this late in the summer, but here is a video I took this morning.

Late afternoon MUF raises up to around 70 mHz and the Es cloud lays in the right position to receive some STL's from Italy. This was heard - 50.75 mHz Lattemiele and on 53.00 en 55.00 mHz Radio Jonica.

Band 1 TV and OIRT open to Russia

Again a early start of Es this morning, started in Band 1 TV with good pics on Channel R1 from 1TV - Moscow and BT1 -Minsk/Belarus and on Channel R2 RTR from Novgorod (RUS).

Half way the morning the OIRT Band was open to Moscow area with several new stations heard such as Russkaya Sluzhba Novostey from Moscow on 69.26 mHz.

Some OIRT and Band II ES on 28 July 2012

Around 10.00 hrs local time OIRT Band was open for 1/2 hour to Russia and Ukraine. The rest of the day was very quiet with the Es until 1815 hrs when Band II was open to Tunisia with the ES cloud on the right spot as you can see on today's ES MUF map.

Very quiet ES day - 27 july 2012

Best tropo in these days had been to Danmark, Norway and Sweden. FM band was open with tropo to Sweden early in the morning but due to other commitments I missed the opening. When I arrived in the shack at 0915 local time signals were just fading out. More luck next time ! Late afternoon FM band was open with Es to Italy for a short moment. A new one was 91.70 Tele Radio Padre Pio from Campobasso with only 0,25 KW.

Sporadic Es + Tropo on 26 july 2012

• Nice Es to Russia and Estonia in the morning. Russian stations Avtoradio 88.40 and Radio Zenit 89.70 - and from Estonia 96.60 Star FM from Maardu were new. OIRT was open quite well to Sankt-Peterburg. Late afternoon there was a nice Es opening into Finland and a long tropo lift to Norway and Sweden.

OIRT-Es 14 july 2012

Arrived in the shack at 0730z and OIRT Band was already
open into Belarus and Ukraine.
Pity that I had to leave home at 0900z as Band II
was open into Scandinavia.
So I missed that BIG ES opening after reading the postings
on the FM-DX mailinglists when arrived back at home.
